Desloppy docs
Desloppy checks whether writing reads as AI-generated, shows which lines cause it, and how to fix them in your own voice. Use it on the website, or inside Claude, ChatGPT and other assistants that support MCP connectors.
1. Sign in
Sign in: 5,000 free words, one time (or try 1,000 words on the homepage without signing in). Sign in at desloppy.com/account with your email, or while connecting from Claude or ChatGPT (step 2). The same 5,000 words work on the website and in Claude/ChatGPT. Quick fixes don't use your words.
2. Connect it
Claude (claude.ai, desktop or mobile): Settings โ Connectors โ Add custom connector. Name it Desloppy and paste:
https://desloppy.com/mcp
Click Connect. A Desloppy sign-in page opens: sign in with your email (or a passkey); Claude Code and API users can paste a key from their account page. You're sent back to Claude, connected. When your words run out, Desloppy tells you where to upgrade: desloppy.com/account, signed in with the same email.
Claude Code: copy a key from your account page (keys are only for Claude Code and the API), then run:
claude mcp add --transport http desloppy https://desloppy.com/mcp --header "Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY"
ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP apps: add https://desloppy.com/mcp and sign in. If the app can't sign in, send the header Authorization: Bearer YOUR_KEY. Keys in URLs are not accepted (URLs leak into logs).
3. Use it
Just ask in plain words. Examples:
- "Check this cover letter with Desloppy and make it sound like me."
- "Does my essay read as AI? Show me which lines and why."
- "Rewrite this LinkedIn post so it doesn't sound like AI, then prove it with a before/after score."
- "Check the speaker notes in this deck." (attach a .pptx)
The assistant runs the check, rewrites only the flagged lines in your voice, and checks again until it passes (at most 3 rounds).
Tools
| Tool | What it does | Counts words? |
|---|---|---|
check_writingCheck writing for AI signs | Full check: verdict, AI score (0 human to 1 AI), the passages to rewrite first, line-by-line fixes and voice tips. | Yes |
quick_fixesQuick fixes (free) | Instant rule checks: AI phrases and patterns, each with a line number and a plain fix. No detector. | No |
ai_scoreAI score only | Detector score per ~300-word chunk. | Yes |
check_fileCheck a document | Same as check_writing for .docx, .pptx (slides and speaker notes), .pdf, .txt and .md. | Yes |
compareCompare before and after | Scores an original and a rewrite side by side to confirm the rewrite passes. | Yes (both texts) |
All tools only read the text you send. None of them change anything in your accounts. There's also a "Make it sound human" prompt and tips per kind of writing.
Kinds of writing: school_essay, essay, presentation, email, social, fiction, general, or auto (Desloppy guesses). The assistant picks one from context.
Plans and limits
- Without signing in: try 1,000 words on the website.
- Free (sign in): 5,000 words, one time, on the website and in Claude/ChatGPT. Quick fixes don't use words.
- Writer $9/month: 100,000 words a month. Pro $19/month: 500,000. Agency $49/month: 2,000,000.
- Yearly = 2 months free. Every plan includes everything; plans differ only in words.
- Launch offer: code LAUNCH50 takes 50% off the first year of a yearly plan, until November 15, 2026.
- Up to 20,000 words (200,000 characters) per check. Files up to 15 MB.
Good to know
- Scores are probabilities, not proof. Never treat a score as evidence that a person used AI.
- Short texts (under ~200 words) get low-confidence scores.
- We don't store what you check. See Privacy.
Troubleshooting
- "Not signed in" / sign-in loops: remove the connector and add it again, then sign in with the same email.
- "Pick a plan to keep going": your free words are used up. Quick fixes still work.
